How did you start working with people who live with trauma?

I spent 10 years off and on working in the only women’s prison in Vermont. I was there full time for 4.5 years serving women who had experienced domestic and sexual violence and human trafficking. The people there taught me that trauma does not discriminate, and that humans are inherently resilient. We are capable of incredible healing when we have the right resources and support in our communities.
